Wednesday, September 24, 2014 - Previous bottles suffered from a polished oak patina which gave an anonymous international character but on this bottle "manly" Hermitage finally emerged. Colour was slightly less deep than I expected but with little bricking. Nose was at first quite Burgundian. The palate was full with lively acidity and strong backbone and full of iron, red meat and hints of wet leather as well as the usual sour cherry with slight touches of bacon, pepper and olive. Very good+ .
