Friday, December 11, 2009 - VVW tasting bar. Somewhat muted nose that displays black fruits, iodine and minerals. Really rich and deep palate, with bitter cherry and bitter chocolate notes, I'm really struck by the depth of the flavors and the bitter and somewhat angular edge that they have. It tightens up with some air, and has a rich finish. Very compelling, but I'm not sure how it will evolve. If consuming now, I recommend hearty dishes with rich flavors like braised short ribs or roasted pork or lamb.
