93 Points

Saturday, May 29, 2010 - (from memory) Dark red, big nose of coffee beans, raspberries, candied fruits and scorched earth, palate is spicy on the attack with big round, sweet tannins and loads of brooding fruit but lacking acidity, finish is long and complex

Note: 93 reflects the level of quality but not my level of enthusiasm. This was the second high ranked CdP that left me confused and disappointed by the lack of acidity. I'm starting to think this is not a vintage for traditionalist. Will probably end up selling off most of those hard won pre-arrivals and use the proceeds to buy more 05's.

Update: 2019
12 years into the vintage and as predicted, the vintage is not performing well, all the lush fruit in the early years has faded, leaving burnt rubber and stale, woodsy flavors, a "good riddance" to my last 07 CdP
Score: 87
