Thursday, November 27, 2008 - This wine is amongst the rarest that I own...........and I decided to open it for the surprise. My son has always wanted to taste this wine so I decided to give him his chance. the wine was opened for over ten hours and it really needed it . It was very oaky form the outset but opened nicely. The other finding of this bottle was the intensity of the purple color.............it was ink like. We could not see an LED light thru it when we examined it. The first smell wa sof heavy oak with berry licorice. Mid palated was softer and had hints of spice like cumin and fig with leather tanins. Very soft and velvety. The finish was strong but not long and had berry raisin confit with jammy black fruit and some dried apricot. It was a pleasure to drink but i think it is starting to decline................fun bottle.
