Community Tasting Note

Thursday, February 12, 2009 - 12.5% alcohol. Decanted. Red/purple color to the rim of the glass. Really funky nose initially. It kind of had this acrid, acidic smell that evolved into something like black fruit with a cheese rind note. In the mouth, much more pleasant, although still quite closed up. Black fruit, a touch of graphite, some cedar. Plenty of acidity and generally a nicely balanced wine, with hints of herbs and earth. Finish exercises some still pretty solid tannins. Might be closed up. Not giving a ton right now. B
