Friday, December 21, 2012 - Light golden color. Followed over a couple of days. This was tight and unforgiving on opening, both aromatically & in the mouth. This woke up to show a mix of stone & tree fruit on the nose. The acidic backbone here was a bit shrill on day 1, but is bright and drying on day 2. The fruit provides a good balancing agent here. Peachy & pure with a bit of rich pear on the mid through the finish. Some clean minerality lingers as well. You can let these sleep a bit longer, or give them some good air time as the weight & depth really has picked up on the second day. This is an insane qpr for $20.
A public service announcement, don't serve this too cold. We made a simple tomato frittata for dinner with this. Highly recommended.
