Sunday, April 4, 2010 - Took a surprisingly long time to really open up (for a 2003)... the nose was pretty closed for the first 45 minutes to an hour. But when it did, there was lots of dark fruits, cinnamon spice and a ton of rusty iron notes (think dried blood). The mouth is full and round with tons of dark fruit flavors, green pepper, earthy herbal notes and firm, but well integrated tannins. There is still some really good acidity hanging around on the back end too.

Two days later (no vacu-vin) and still not going downhill ... push out drink-by date 2 or 3 years. This has got some legs.
