Sunday, March 6, 2016 - Deep and brooding cherry on the nose. Forest floor and pine with more cherry in the mouth, but the backbone is breaking down and oak/heat/sweetness is coming through. Not flabby per se, but definitely on the way out. The Peay syrahs are a thing of cold climate beauty at this age, but this Pinot doesn't quite have the structure I was hoping for.
