Thursday, January 22, 2009 - The juice was opaque. The nose was filled with flowers, stone, burnt earth, chocolate, tobacco, and dark berries. The palate was not quite as striking as from a previous bottle. It lacked complexity and was a bit clumsy. It needed more focus, perhaps the wine is in an evolutionary period where it's just not showing it's best. It reminded me of a cheap ruby port, a bit whorish.
