Saturday, October 4, 2014 - Year 2 - Super Tasting 4 of 5 - Chris does 2001 Chateauneuf-du-Pape: (tasted blind, wine #12) A very good example here. This pours fairly light in colour with notes of saline, clean tart red fruit, herbs, light dusty soil, orange peel, some decaying leaf character and a slightly high-toned volatile nose tingling edge. Actually maturing a fair bit. The palate has a bit of dusty tannin and a tart red fruit medium length finish. Enjoyable, though not a style I usually go for admittedly.
