Sunday, June 28, 2009 - FROM A MAGNUM. Decanted and aired for about 1 hour. Spectacular cabernet nose of cherry, dark berry, cassis, oak and earth. Still youthful with lots of slightly drying tannin, acidity and fruit. Everything about it was big -- but smooth and in perfect balance. Silky smooth mouth feel with a nice long fruity finish. Great complexity and depth of flavors. Tastes like it is about 10 years old. A nearly perfect cabernet - absolutely magnificent! I have had probably 15-20 vintages of Mondavi Reserve -- and this was the best ever.
