Tuesday, June 1, 2004 - Ruby red with some fading around the rim. Very appealing aromas of lovely wood, wild fruits, marzipan and anise. Full body with solid concentration, providing flavors of ripe grapes, blackcurrant, spices and more. Lovely balance with integrated tannins that do need time to soften, perfect acidity, as well as truly lovely toasted oak. Big finish and with a solid tasty aftertaste. Overall this is a very good wine, loaded with flavors and presented in a very slick structure. I believe it needs a few more years, but is very enjoyable now. Not the most unique in its flavoring and aromas, but definitely a solid wine at a very high level. Very enjoyable. - Tasted blind
