Tuesday, September 20, 2011 - This wine is over the top for my palate, but that is what the top California cabernets have become. The colour gives no hint of ten years of age. Very ripe blackberry and cassis, licorice nose, very intense and complex, but even this intensity cannot hide the alcohol. The palate is balanced, the tannins hidden by the intense fruit extract. Long, long finish. The palate is more enjoyable than the nose, but what food do you serve this with other than grilled red meats and even that may not be enough for this wine.
