89 Points

Saturday, October 24, 2009 - Opened, decanted for an hour. Deep plum color. Floral nose with hints of chocolate and cranberry. Initially a tannic beast, but softened a bit with air. Dark fruit and cedar dominate the palate, with a definite alcohol note. Enough structure to last for a few years and it could probably use the time. Very dry, gripping finish, fruit fades quickly leaving heat and tannins behind. Will probably buy a few more at $20 a bottle, expecting better things in 3-5 years.
