Wednesday, November 25, 2009 - Dark ruby red color. Started out very tight with only a half hour in decanter but after about an hour of air aromas of ripe strawberry, rose petal, red licorice and spiced cookie emerged. On the palate it showed blackberry and cherry with orange rind and a little bit of oak showing through. All of this was carried by a balanced acidity that kept it all very food friendly.
