Monday, September 20, 2010 - Popped and ran through a vinturi. Dark crimson color in the glass. Really beautiful nose of roasted plum, dark cherry, perfume, a touch of bitter chocolate, some bloody meat, green pepper and dried herbs in the glass. Really quite intoxicating and the nose continued to evolve as the wine opened up in the glass. More of the same on the palate with ripe, lush red fruit mixed with earthy, savory meat flavors, minerality, and a touch of spice on the back end. Strong acid, firm yet balanced tannins, smooth mouthfeel and a long finish. Wish I would have bought more.
