Tuesday, January 8, 2013 - 2nd bottle out of a batch of 3. The first bottle was disappointing, and this bottle was about the same as I remember the previous one. Nose of significant petrol, which is promising, and some minerals, slate and acidic citrus fruit - sharp lemon and lime, but feels a little hollow. The palate shows this even more. There is lively acid, and more petrol, but the rest of the flavors feel like someone turned down the volume a few notches too low. Not much sweetness, but not much fruit either, or anything else. What flavors there are mirror the nose: slate and lime, but they aren't present enough to state their case. The wine isn't unpleasant, just meh - the acid and the petrol are enough to make it decent. A rare disappointment from one of my favorite producers. This was a sub-par batch :( Nose - 3.5/6, Palate - 3/6, Finish - 3/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 0.5/2 = 10/20
