Monday, January 19, 2015 - In a great place. Decanted for an hour before dinner. Lush texture. Soft, medium tannins. Some baked brown sugar; some cloves, cinnamon, other baking spices; some red currants. Only gripe might be that it lacks some acidity at this point, and might in a way be as well or better suited to a stand-alone than to a meal. (It served our pork shoulder/polenta/celery root "lyonnaise" quite well, but everyone agreed that it shone more brightly after dinner was over....)

Not tired, not in decline, but I also can't see how this improves much from here.
