Thursday, March 11, 2010 - Decanted for almost six hours, drank over the next three.

An inky core fading into burgundy tones with a purple rim. The nose brings very concentrated, focused aromas of tobacco, bittersweet chocolate covered blackberry, blueberry coulis, and cut red flowers. There is a liveliness at the front of the palate that hints at red fruit and is then devoured by black and blues. Blueberry syrup, blackberry jam, and brandied cherries carry an exotic mix of intense fruit and spice. A black pepper finish lingers.

This is my first SQN. It is an important experience for me. It needed all eight hours that I gave it to evolve into what it is now. I wrote that black pepper thing about a minute ago and I'm still experiencing it. Drink now with plenty air, or hold for a dozen years. Really memorable stuff.
