Saturday, April 20, 2013 - Great Syrah. Like non other I have tasted. So many things happening in this wine. Dark purple. Did not decant due to no more decanters left, but bottle was opened for 3 hours. Nose was like banana cake and dark boisen berries. A lot of heat came off this nose almost like a desert liqueur. Taste had the banana or rum aspect to it, hints of tobacco, and strong vanilla taste as well. I do not know If I would recommend with a steak almost better to eat halfway through the steak due to the desert type flavors. Great wine would like to try again.
