Sunday, December 30, 2012 - Decanted for at least 3 hours. Cork was almost entirely soaked through (same with 05 SQN Atlantis Syrah) but came out clean. Deep medium ruby tint that coats the glass. Vegetal nose with hints of lavender, coffee grinds and olive. Silky smooth taste of olive brine, spice, grilled meat, blackberry jam, pepper, and creamy oak. Extremely thick texture with 30 second finish. A little bit of manageable heat. Had with grilled skirt steak and balsamic marinated portobello mushrooms.
