Friday, December 9, 2011 - Drank with dinner at Blue Hill at Stone Barns. Popped and poured with no decant, and it wasn't an issue. As someone more eloquently called barnyard, it was the smell of the droppings on the floor. Strangely a usual indicator of something good to come. Leathery, earthy nose, soft tannins, mellow fruit. Smooth, well balanced, subdued. What a pleasure to drink right from the get go. Drinking fabulously now. It probably has a few good years left, but this is shining right now. Just wish I didn't have to pay a 400% markup to drink it.
