Wednesday, August 28, 2013 - A medium ruby color; yellowing at the rim. Last consumed 22 months ago. Still dusty and earthy on the nose, along with black cherry, some blackberry/black currant, cedar, tobacco and cigar box from the oak. Similar flavors. The tannins are not totally resolved yet; very slightly acidic on the tongue. Good structure and acid. A decent finish. A nice Southern Medoc. This wine is better with food, in that the slightly unresolved tannins are abated. Very nice pairing with lamb chops.
