Sunday, June 28, 2015 - This took hours to open up and is just starting to drink. Decanted for a couple hours and then put back into the bottle to bring back to cellar temperature. At its most expressive, strawberry, dark berries, gingery oak, raw game notes. More 2005 than Chambolle in a way; more muscle than elegance here. Despite its proximity to Musigny, I'm afraid this doesn't reach too high. The QPR on this - at $175 a bottle - is terrible although I admire Bruno Clavelier's style and what he's doing here. I'm curious to look at the 2007 rendition; I bet that could really work here if the price is right.

By the way - this was very temperature sensitive. Absolutely need to treat this right and serve it at proper Burgundy temperatures; too warm and this takes on some hot garrigue notes and the 13,5% alcohol shows.
