Sunday, January 20, 2013 - Big wallop of candied strawberry and cherry on the nose with a hint of heat and wood.

The fruit exploded out of the gate. Intense, ultra ripe bright red fruit on the mid palate with a generous dose of baking spice and a touch of cherry liquor and cola. Slightly tannic. Very open right now and didn't really change throughout the night. Balanced as a young ripe fruit forward CA pinot would be but not showing any alcohol/oak/over-sweetness. Drank the next night and the candy fruit mellowed a bit as the acid picked up and mellowed the texture. A bit of alcohol started to peak out though.
