Wednesday, January 18, 2012 - Decidedly different than other kosher Bordeaux’s on the market, this wine is mean, green and concentrated. The deep and brooding color in the glass foreshadows the sensory experience that follows. Resounding notes of concentrated black fruit and lead pencil greet the nose and provide a supporting role to green-and-black-laden flavors that grace the palate. Black licorice, cassis and bell pepper mix with charred earth and dark chocolate to deliver a complex and mouth filling experience that makes you go hmmm. Full-bodied with muscular tannins, balanced acidity and a bit of texture, this wine is structured to age. And on the long finish, distinct notes of plum fade into a sweet berry soiree that make you reach for another pour. Excellent now and for the next 6-8 years.
