Thursday, January 20, 2011 - From bottle to glass to nose to mouth with little time in between. An interest inducing nose of chamomile with raw honey over hasbro cherry drop gummy candy over a lovely asafetida funk, this nose really really speaks to me in a way that I can't imagine not pinpointing down as Italian. On the palate, sweet cherry fruit washes over the palate leaving a path of dry tannin in its wake. This well composed and correctly oriented Chianti cries out for marinara, mozzarella, red pepper, and pizza, yes pizza (among many other foods). I believe the mouthfeel of this wine will improve after another couple years or so of age. Medium finish. Black pepper dust. Goes down easy. So far, I've really enjoyed everything I've tried from this producer.
