Sunday, February 23, 2014 - Uncorked at 3, decanted at 6, drank at 10. Uniquely funky Cayuse above the glass with floral notes quickly swallowed up by iron, blood, macerated sour cherries and blackberries. This wine does not integrate it's alcohol as well as previous experiences. It hits you in the mid-palate, that you are drinking a high alcohol wine. Finish lacks focus, and again, succumbs to the alcohol. It is a beautiful wine, but unfortunately has to contend with the expectations that Christophe has imbued in us.
