Friday, October 23, 2015 - Yet another perfect wine from Cayuse. Definitely at its peak but will last five or more years. Garnet, mostly opaque. The nose is immediate and powerful, of dark fruits, burnt wood, coffee, fennel. It's viscous and full-bodied, but much smoother and much more balanced than some of the tannic "fruit bombs". Flavors are dark fruits, roasted coffee, anise, very long aftertaste. I have tasted more perfect and near-perfect wines from Cayuse than from any other American winery.
