Friday, January 1, 2010 - This is an excellent wine that gets better if allowed to breathe a bit. The cork was tight and air had clearly not infiltrated the bottle. There is an inky darkness to the color. The nose is alive. Leather hit me first followed by good earth and tight fruit. Given a short time the aromas of dark berries reveal themselves. You won't be disappointed with the flavors and subtle changes in the wine. Again, big fruit, berries, earth, and just a hint of good moss early (it went away with decanting). The wine is not overly complex but does change. It shows a good balance. Tannins are evident upon opening and drinking through the finish. The wine should age nicely. Very happy with the purchase.
