Friday, March 12, 2010 - Friday, March 12, 2010 - This is dark and brooding. Serious structure, didn't start to come alive until around the 3 hour mark (decant). Around 5 hours now. Somewhat astringent tannins. Blackcurrants, brush, blackberries, tar, vanilla, hints of pine. Really very nice, but I'd like to see it in a few years. It seems that there are more layers and complexities there that I just can't see past the tannins. Like figures in the fog.

Paired beautifully with seared rib-eye.
