2000 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Community Tasting Note

Thursday, May 7, 2009 - Lush.

Decanted for two hours. Had as an after dinner wine unaccompanied.

Dark purple in the glass, almost opaque. Very pleasant nose of cassis, some earthiness, a little bit of wood (we all agreed that cedar was what we were experiencing, but only after reading other tasting notes). On the palate more cassis, very rich mouthfeel, good acidity, with still dusty but still present tannins. Length smooth finish highlighting the cassis.
