2000 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Community Tasting Note

91 Points

Saturday, May 28, 2011 - Took several hours to really open up, and then several hours later lost some of its spark. Exciting, complex bouquet and a structure like beams and girders. The fruit here has finally unfolderd while, in the core, a very separate vector of autumnal notes emerges but fails to yet merge. This added complexity and great suppporting acidity contribute to an icy top layer of imperial fruit above sparse forest and bitter caramel.
