2000 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Community Tasting Note

Saturday, February 9, 2013 - Slow-O 6 hours, served single-blind at a CT offline. Youthful color, with aromas more subtle than bright, which made the palate all that more interesting in that it was on point, but clearly still had some room to grow. Didn't quite make it to my top 5 during the tasting, but out of (approx?) 50 bottles, that's not too surprising, I should think. If there is a takeaway here, it's that this needs another 4-5 years in the cellar so the tertiary development can hit full stride. recommended, 13,0% abv, drink thru 2023

note: this bottle was a very thoughtful Secret Santa gift from Good To Grape during the 2011 CT SS event -my prior tasting having been ruined by TCA, GtG thoughfully replaced my corked bottle with this. It seemed only right to share it with fellow CTers. So thank you, GtG.
