2000 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Community Tasting Note

95 Points

Sunday, April 15, 2007 - Decanted for about one hour. Dark carmine. What a nose!!! I can't describe this comlexity. Leather, melted licorice, white chocolate, tar, tobacco, cherries, cedar, plum, oaky vanilla, wet earth, and much - much more... On the palate is full - bodied, very balanced, with well integrated tannins. Cherries, black fruits, cocoa, cofee, green peper and cinnamon, are mixed up perfectly. A nice long finsh of 40 sec makes this wonderful St Julien a masterpiece. Very strong effort from this chateau to drink absolutely. It is good to wait for 3 - 4 years before drinking and enjoy it for the next two decades.
