2000 Château Lagrange (St. Julien)

Community Tasting Note

92 Points

Tuesday, April 27, 2004 - With a nice steak, I decided to commit a bit of infanticide. Dark ruby purple color, huge nose of smoke and red ripe fruit with a hint of vanilla. In the mouth, the wine is concentrated with a drizzle of chocolate and black fruits in abundance. The wine is big, but not overly so. The tannins give a smooth mouthfeel and a sweetness only found in the ripest years and lead to a long 25 second finish. I must get more!
