Friday, January 2, 2009 - Wife and I pulled our first bottle over dinner, roasted pork loin & corn soufflé. Decanted for 4 hours. Impressive nose, primarily vanilla, smoke, rustic cherry. Moderately dark purple color. On palate, very dense, chewy, with dark raspberry, fig. The finish is just flat out terrific. Corked and opened up for second day drinking, and it still took two hours to open up. Beautiful wine at this point, might even get better.
