Sunday, April 18, 2010 - A really nice shiraz. The wine is dark violet yet exhibits a clarity I rarely notice with Shiraz. The nose consists of aromas of cherry, blueberry, spice and just the right amount of oak. The texture exhibits great balance of tannins, acid, and good, clean fruit. There is a hint of earthy grit that really helps bring it all together and adds an old world twist to the wine. I don't think this wine is one to age for the long haul, but it certainly has the balance to mature nicely over the next few years.
