Thursday, February 28, 2013 - Rhone - Highlights from north & south (Portimao): Served during a Rhone lecture I held during an offsite in Portugal. A big wine with lots of alcohol, garrigue, earthy, spicy notes, ripe red fruit too, a bit hot in the finish. Popular in the group but for some just too much alcohol and red cherry aromas... I wonder how well it does with food. As mentioned on other occasions, I personally prefer CdP with more Mourvedre in it as it adds structure and complexity.
