Saturday, July 13, 2013 - I opened this at a 7/13/13 birthday party. It was poured through a vinturi into a decanter and allowed to sit for an hour before the first sip. It didn’t completely open up until an additional hour had passed…The bouquet was immense and incredibly rich with aromas of cherry, raspberry, anise, dried herb, pepper, spice and minerals. The palate was rich, complex, dense, layered, dry and seamless with flavors of raspberry, cherry, herb, licorice, pepper, spice and a touch of mocha…by far, the best Chateauneuf du Pape I’ve ever tasted.
