90 Points

Monday, September 22, 2014 - A 1964 birthday Celebration (Sepia - Chicago IL): A wine I've never seen before (from Rousseau) from any vintage, I imagine this was an assemblage of the Lavaux and Cazetiers. Popped and poured, this started with mostly mature red fruit and subtle spice along with plenty of earth. This darkened and picked up weight within 10-15 minutes in glass, taking on more classic Gevrey character. I didn't care much for this the initial 5-10 minutes, but liked it considerably more shortly after that.
