Monday, May 11, 2015 - Splash decant and strain for sediment (had a lot) .... This is drinking quite well now. The fruit has receded, but is still present, though I'd say it's more of a secondary note. The tannins are smooth, but still bracingly dry. There is a big acid pop and a decent amount of spice and earth. Altogether well made, not even slightly hot and in a very well-balanced place right now. Drier and more responded than most California Syrahs. Hard to imagine it improving much, as I think it would suffer from further lose of fruit. ... Mother's Day 2015
