Sunday, October 13, 2013 - Second Sunday Group: 1995 Pauillac vs. Pessac (Rich's & Dana's): Deep garnet color. Quite reticent at first- dark berry fruit is all that is discernible. Flavors of dark fruit and iron. Opened more than any other in the flight as it sat; ripe red fruit- berries and raspberry, with hints of forest floor. Firm tannins with an abundance of red fruit- pretty. Long finish; nice balance. 93-94 pts.
My #6, Domino's #2
Group #8, 63 pts
Another taste with dinner: cedar, violets and black fruit. Wealth of red fruit on the palate; underlying herbal/forest floor quality; impressively long finish. Unfortunate that we have only one left in the cellar.
