Tuesday, January 19, 2010 - This is an extraordinary bottle of Zinfandel from Deerfield Vineyards. The nose on this wine is superb. Good black fruit aromas, some exotic Asian spice integrated with some vanilla notes. This is a 16.6% alcohol wine, somehow the wine does not display heat. Well balanced round tannins with alcohol and fruit driven flavor. Rich jammy blackberry, strawberry and cherry flavors with a slight peppery finish. Long lasting flavor on the palate with great mid palate grip. My personal favorite Zinfandel. Would buy again.
