Wednesday, October 17, 2012 - Acker BYO (Domaine Wine Storage, Chicago IL): nose: There is real intensity and power on the nose right now. It is far from a bashful and shows larger tones of dark red fruits, some oak, dark red cherries, black pepper and various spice tones.
taste: Full bodied with some very chewy and gripping tannins along with medium+ acidity. There is balance behind it though, with real intensity at the same time, and tones of dark red fruits, black pepper, and dark red cherries.
overall: This is very young. I don't think it saw much air either and showed off some real raw power to it. It needs a good 5-8 to fully show itself, though I'm sure one could drink it now if they were so inclined.
