Tuesday, October 1, 2013 - Dialed up Giada's chicken carbonara for this bottle, hoping for a little better showing from this not inexpensive chardonnay. A moderately deep greenish yellow in the glass, with an again reticent nose of creme brulee, poached pear and soft Meyer lemon. These carry over to the palate, with a bit better acidity than the first bottle and also noticeable oaky spices on the finish. Still a low-key performance, comparatively, and I can only hope that our 3rd and final bottle is even better.
