90 Points

Tuesday, June 29, 2010 - Got this bottle from TC's wine club for $21.60 and drank with garlic chicken, rice pilaf, and veggies. This is a nicely acidic, minerally, refreshing white that went well with the garlic chicken and would equally pair well with most pork and white fish dishes (especially shellfish and firm white fishes like bass). The bouquet is nicely minerally, floral, and slightly fruity, while the flavor profile accentuates the grape's firm acids, tropical fruits (suggestions of pineapple and mango), and mineraliness/stoniness. I got the impression that this wine may have been partially fermented in both oak and stainless steel; the wine reveals both qualities (a slight creaminess from the oak, as well as the "usual suspects" that steel imparts (the previously-mentioned acidic firmness and mineraliness/stoniness)). There are additional flavors that are difficult to pinpoint, meaning this wine has great depth and complexity for an affordable white. This is a fantastic summer white that will probably age quite well (for at least another 2 or 3 years).
