Saturday, January 30, 2010 - Tasting at Scott Paul and Tyrus Evan (Carlton, OR): Moderate purple-red, perhaps a shade darker than either the Charmes or Bel Air. Stunning nose of ripe red fruit, damp earth, smoke and some wood. Equally good on the palate with loads of ripe fruit off-set by moderate tannin. Shockingly long finish. Luanne commented that this wine was 'mature' whereas the Bel Air was 'rambunctous'.
