Wednesday, February 5, 2014 - A private dinner (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): In spite of a dollop of glossy blackcurrant fruit and a hint of vanilla, a slightly Italianate nose, with notes of leather, earth and spice, slatey minerality; medium weight, relatively dry, seems fully mature, slightly tough; drying finish with notes of aniseed and liquorice.
