Saturday, August 3, 2013 - Exceptional wine. Initial nose straight from bottle was hot, with mostly bright red fruits. Quick pass through a Vinturi mellowed the heat and brought forth more earthy, leathery tones. Allowed to sit in decanter for about an hour before rebottling and taking to a dinner at a friend's house. With beef tenderloin and some more air, this became considerably more complex and interesting, with dark fruit and earthy elements very much in evidence. Glad I have one more.
